“WHAT CALORIES SHOULD I BE ON?”

I get asked this all the time, and from females especially! Some of the people that ask are on 800 calories, some don’t track at all and some don’t know what calories are.
.
They compare themselves to people the know on 2000 calories ( who have trained 4-5 times a week for the last 7 years when you haven’t) and think they should be on that or more commonly they stick themselves on 1000 calories and are terrified to go above that in case they get fat or they want a quick fix to lose fat as fast as possible.
.
Calorie level is dependent on many things such training amount, training ability, age and your goal to name a few. Understand however that the calories you are on NOW, will not stay that way forever. They fluctuate based on your goal and need at any given time.

You may be on 1400 now to lose weight, but you might be on 2200 down the line because of how strong you have become in the gym. You might need to start on 1500 now and work upward because you have been on 800 for the last 2 years and have f*cked yourself up.
