Okay, I'm interested. What are my benefits of having you as my personal trainer?

Undivided attention. You will get a personalised fitness program that suits your goals. In addition, I will monitor your progress on a per session basis. That way, you will get instant feedback on how well you have progressed towards your goals.

Fitness Knowledge. As you might have already known, I have been a certified fitness instructor for about 10 years. I believe the many years of personal training and coaching experience will be valuable to you, should you have me as your personal trainer. My unique and effective personal training instructions have benefited many, and I believe that you will too!

Focus- Mind over matter. Fitness training does not depend on your physical efforts alone. Our method of physical training will be based on a mixture of knowledge, physical training excellence and the control of mind over body. It have been proven that motivation and programming of the mind play important roles in determining the length of time you will reach your goals. For example, if you were to start on a diet program, it would not be sufficient for you to avoid food and to exercise only. You will need to program your mind in such a way such that you associate certain negative feelings towards the particular food that you are avoiding. Using this method, you will attain your weight loss goals quickly, efficiently and most importantly, the weight loss will be permanent.

Neuro-linguistic programming. What you say and perceive will determine your actions. You will be able to leverage your training efforts by programming what you say to yourself. We will use this method of motivation and positive affirmations throughout our program. You will then be able psyche yourself up automatically that will maximise your fullest physical potential during each session. This way, you would have the knowledge and practice of applying neuro-linguistic programming in your training sessions. This will give you the inertia for you to continue training even after our training package expires.

Technical knowledge. You will receive proper education and instructions on how to perform techniques and strategies on how to perform your workouts effectively based on advanced scientific knowledge - knowledge from the TOP MOST and highly respected college for fitness experts - American College of Sports Medicine and National Academy of Sports Medicine. Local certifications include from the Singapore Sports Council and Singapore Fitness Professionals Federation.

Can I meet up with you first and have a chat before I sign up?

Definitely. During our first meet up / consultation, we'll get to know each other a little better.. During that time, you would like to see my certificates and awards.. so I'll bring along them with me.. Did I mention that our first meet up / consultation will be free? Well... it is :)

I will also draft up a training schedule for you during our first meet up/consultation.

Great, so what are your charges like?

Rates differ from trainer to trainer. Depending on qualifications, certifications and experience, rates vary. Usually, the better the qualifications and longer the professional experience, the higher the rate. In short, you get what you pay for. If there is a trainer who charges $30 per hour, beware - check his credentials as professional trainers who charge at low rates are usually very low in demand due to various reasons, such as not producing results for their clients OR they are new to the industry.

By the way, the market rate for well qualified trainers in Singapore is about $70 (US$40) to $171 (US$100) for about an hour/session.

For each session, you will receive full solid hour of undivided attention from me. Below are the packages that you can sign up. Some of you might realise that I've lowered the rates :)

 


Where do you conduct your training?

Anywhere you want to! But of course, it'll be better if its at a fitness club or gym. If your condominium have fitness facilities, we could train there too.

If your residence do not provide fitness facilities, do not fret :) We can have our workouts at any public gyms. Most of the time, its at the Singapore Sports Council ClubFITT centers, located all around the island .

How many sessions should I sign up?

It depends. Generally, most of my clients sign up for 20 sessions as it is much cheaper than the other packages in terms of per session. You would like to have a 'tryout' as me being your trainer first. So, you might want to sign up for the 5 sessions first. Its totally up to you.

Here's what I recommend.. to have a good and effective fitness sessions, you need to train at least 3 times a week. Initially, you might need the guidance through the technique and diet/nutrition advice.. I'd suggest that you take me up as your personal trainer for the first one month during all of your training workouts. My goal is to impart whatever knowledge that you need to train on your own within that one month. After that, you can train by yourself knowing you are doing the right and effective techniques and methods of training.

However, should you need me to help you train after that month, I'd be more than happy to continue. Most of the time my clients engage me as their 'lifelong trainer' because they want me to push and motivate them during their workout. This also include imparting new knowledge and techniques for training that can help them achieve their goals faster and safer.

What is the frequency the training program/s?

I'd recommend that you attend your personal training three times a week, but depending on your schedule and training goals, this may vary.

I am a member of a country club that has a fitness centre, will you conduct the training there?

Yes I would. However, that would mean that I am your 'guest' during our training sessions at your country club. Should you agree, if there are any costs involved with regards to this, it would be settled by you. However, from my previous experience, most country clubs prefer to have their own trainers to train the members. As a general guideline to pricing, please ask them for their their certificates and compare them to this website - beware that there are not many certified personal trainers in Singapore. Most of these self proclaimed trainers are either those involved in body building or fitness instructors who do have exercise leader and fitness instructor certifications from Singapore only. Do remember that fitness instructors and exercise leaders are NOT personal trainers as they are not trained in PROGRAM DESIGN or EXERCISE PRESCRIPTION - which is essential for you if you want safe, effective results.

No - I only concentrate on personal training and effective techniques from sports science. No commercial selling at all. Distributors, stay away please ;)
